Roulette Table

Roulette is a game of chance. Traditionally green Roulette Table serves the objective of the game: guessing where the Roulette ball will land and stop after spinning on the Roulette wheel. Roulette is played on a Roulette Table of 36 red and black numbers and a green single zero or double zero.

In land-based casinos, every Roulette Table has its own set of distinctive casino chips that can only be used at that particular roulette table. These chips are purchased at the Roulette Table at which they are to be played and each player is given chips of a unique color and design. The player determines the value of the chips when purchasing them, depending on the minimum limit.

In American Roulette, the Roulette Table layout consists of 38 sectors, numbered from 1 to 36, and a zero and double zero (0 and 00). In European Roulette the Roulette Table layout consists of 37 numbers including a single zero (0). The side and the end of the Roulette Table, which has the thick Grey border, is the section that is fully dedicated to the Roulette players. They stand there nearby the Roulette Table to place their wagers and observe the proceedings. There is some standing room at Roulette Tables.

The other end of the Roulette Table is the dealer or croupier domain and only he/she may enter there. From the dealer domain of the Roulette Table, the croupier spins the roulette wheel and calls the numbers, supervises the Roulette Table proceedings.

American Roulette Table

The numbers on the American Roulette wheel are 1 to 36, 0, and 00. The numbers alternate pairs of odd numbers with pairs of even numbers. The American Roulette wheel numbers also alternate between black and red, while both the 0 and 00 slots are green.

On the American Roulette Table, the numbers, excluding 0 and 00, are lined up into three columns, each of twelve numbers, the first row is 1,2,3; the second row is 4,5,6 and so on. The rest of the Roulette Table is devoted to numerous bets the game entails. 0 and 00 are neither odd nor even in American Roulette game.

The house average of the American Roulette, equal to 1/19 (5.26%), is approximately halved at the European Roulette Table.

European Roulette Table

In European (French) Roulette the wheel (diameter of 56 cm) is made of wood and consists of 37 slots, numbered from 0 to 36. There are some signs and symbols that appear next to the numbers on the European Roulette Table: Manqué (the numbers from 1 to 18), Passé (the numbers from 19 to 36), Pair (even), Impair (odd), and two diamond-shaped symbols (red and black). Also, six squares, three on the left and three on the right, can be found at the bottom of the Roulette Table: these are marked P12 (12 Premier, or first dozen, the numbers from 1 to 12), M12 (12 Milieu, or second dozen, the numbers from 13 to 24), and D12 (12 Derniere, or third dozen, the numbers from 25 to 36). Stakes on dozens are placed at the center of the corresponding squares at the roulette table.

Finally, three empty squares are found at the center position of the bottom of the Roulette Table. These squares are used for placing stakes on columns of numbers. When a roulette player places a stake on the first square on the left, he is betting on the vertical column of numbers from 1 to 34.

That’s what Roulette Table is all about.
